The Prey
Martens/Weasels/Minks/Stoats/Fisher
An average catch, they are fairly common. However, they can fight back, and don't go down without a little fight. Best to dispatch as fast as you can.
Mice
Very common catch; they are small to medium sized prey. They live in small burrows, and become rare within Leaf-bare.
Voles
Year-round prey, they live in small burrows and can be found near water and rocks.
Lemmings
A little larger than voles and mice, they also live in burrows and are active both day and night. Fairly common to catch.
Chipmunks
Generally smaller than Squirrels, Chipmunks live in trees and burrows. They do not hibernate, but do go into Torpor, making them less seen in the cooler seasons.
Squirrels
Living both in the ground and in trees, squirrels come in many sizes and are more common in the warmer seasons.
Pikas
Medium sized and a little more rare, Pikas are rodents that are out within the day, and choose to sleep in brush and fallen debris.
Hares
Meduim to large in size, they prefer clearings and live in brush and burrows. They are harder to find in the snowy seasons due to their snowy-white coats that change to brown in the warmer seasons.
Moles
Small, burrowing creatures that are somewhat hard to catch. It is best to catch them while they are near the surface, or on the surface. They also become more elusive in the colder seasons.
Shrews
Even smaller than Moles, they are almost exactly the same in elusiveness. However, they are more common in colder weather, as their breeding period is in the warm seasons.

THE PREDATORS
BearsLarge, blundering and dangerous, bears are not to be messed with. There is no chance of defeating a bear if it comes around; it is best to just run, hide, or play dead.
Cougars
Rare, though just as dangerous as a bear, they are violent and are not afraid to approach a cat to harm it.
Bobcats/Lynx
Smaller and almost domestic cat sized, they are opportunistic hunters and love to take food that is already bleeding or dead. If you're near one, and have prey, drop it and run.
