THEY WERE ONCE ONE

cottonClan and shadeclan were once part of a single clan, named oakclan. oakclan was a peaceful and wise clan, during the time which everything was changed, they were led by a strong tomcat by the name of gullstar. he was a confident aged male with experience beyond belief.
THE TURNING OF AN AGE
a kit was born into oakclan under the couple maplefur and brambleheart. they called him deerkit. deerkit was an energetic young male, but there was a certain catch to him, he never ever believed in starclan, and believed he never would. oakclan was a very traditional clan, and thrived in the belief of starclan. everyone was shocked, but didn't think too much of it. it was something that happened rather frequently, and it didn't taint his loyalty to the clan either.
GONE
when deerpaw eventually became deerstride, his distrust in his ancestors became even stronger. he would frequently get into arguments with the medicine cats, and the leader. he refused medical assistance when he was injured due to his disliking of the current feline holding the position. apparently, deerstride made his way around, because other cats began declining medical help as well. one morning, the clan woke up to a missing medicine cat; the one deerstride disliked. a patrol left to search, and returned a few hours later with the corpse of the feline. it was obvious who did it, however it was unknown that help was used. when deerstride was exiled, a few other cats followed. the cats who also refused help of the medicine cats. they did not believe in starclan either.
A NEW LIFE
deerstride went off with his followers, and started his own clan. naming himself deerstar without the help of starclan, and appointing his mate, nettlemouth as his deputy. there they would become the enemies of oakclan, and known as a godless clan to terrorize the lands. the called themselves shadeclan.
A HOME IN RUINS
after the leave of deerstar and his followers, gullstar then renamed oakclan to cottonclan, ashamed of the fact shadeclan was affiliated with oakclan. he figured cottonclan would give them a new start.
CURRENT FEUDS
as mottledstar and thicketstar claw at each others throat, turmoil floods the land. starclan has turned their backs on the feuding clans. shadeclan isn't exactly affected by this, as they never wanted their guidance in the first place, but cottonclan is thrown into complete mayhem. the medicine cats and mottledstar herself have no connection to their ancestors. it seems its up to cottonclan to patch the bruises with shadeclan, but will they succeed?
